Hornung Elementary PTO 

 We are a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the students, teachers, and staff of Hornung Elementary School.  All parents and guardians of Hornung students are automatically members of the PTO.  There are no membership fees to join.  Our meetings are monthly on Fridays at 9:00am in the Media Center.  Please see the Calendar for specific dates.

What does the PTO fund?

We provide funds to each classroom teacher for supplies, funds to each grade level for field trips, assemblies, and other educational enhancements.  We provide funding to the STEAM Media Center, Art, Music and Gym teacher, paraprofessionals, educational assistants and any other professional who works with our children.  We sponsor low cost family events like movie nights, Monster Mash, Family Fun Night, Science Fair and Field Day.

Fundraising Activities

Our main fundraising activities are Parent Donations, our Color Run, and our annual Silent Auction/Classroom Basket Auction. We also raise funds for books during our Scholastic Book Fairs.  

PTO Sponsored Activities

We sponsor Family Fun Night, Field Day, 4th Grade Celebration, Science Fair, Teacher Appreciation, Teacher Allotments, Grade Level Grants, Free Movie Nights, Book Fair, Field Trips and more.  We also enrich our community by partnering with charitable organizations such as Bountiful Harvest and for Toys for Tots.
